At the shipyard in Huludao (Liaoning Province, China), work is believed to have begun on the construction of a new Type 096 Tang-class nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine. In the photo from October 15 this year. disassembled sections with a diameter of 9 and 12 meters are visible.

The first two SSBNs are expected to enter service with the PLA Navy between 2025 and 2030.
